12 days of Christmas on framed stamps from 1977
£37.95
These are a wonderfully designed pair of framed stamps which illustrate the well-known Christmas song 'The twelve days of Christmas' issued in 1977. On frame one the first stamp shows a partridge and pears, the second stamp three hens, two turtle doves and a partridge flying to a pear tree and the third stamp shows six geese, five gold rings and four colly birds.
On frame two the first stamp shows eight maids a-milking and seven swans, the second stamp shows nine drummers drumming and ten pipers piping and the third stamp shows eleven ladies dancing and twelve lords a-leaping. It's quite a feat to have fitted more than 31 items on one small stamp. These framed stamps are sold as a pair with each frame measuring 13x18 cm.
