Queen Elizabeth 1961 Framed Stamps

£31.95

Framed British mint stamps of Queen Elizabeth 2nd, issued from 1952 to 1966, make a really original gift. The stamps are known as Wildings as they were named after Dorothy Wilding who designed each of the stamps. Though the stamp design continued until 1967 the colour of some stamps varied across the years. The values of the stamps shown in pre-decimal currency are half d, 1d, one and a half d, 2d, 2and a half d and 3d. Five pence in today's money would be worth 12d in pre-decimal currency which was changed to decimal, as we know it today, in 1971. It also seems amazing to think that the Queen was the reigning monarch all these years ago and still is today.
