Caxton printing stamps mint framed 1976
Caxton framed stamps for 500th Anniversary of British Printing from 1976. These stamps were issued for the 500th Anniversary of British Printing in 1976 and make a great gift or for anyone involved in print or publishing. The 4 stamps show an extract from 'The Tretyse of Love', woodcut from 'The Game and Playe of Chesse', an early printing press and woodcut from 'Canterbury Tales'. It's amazing to think that printing was invented over 550 years ago and wonder where we'd be without it. There wouldn't even be stamps!
